The Smithsonian, in partnership with the Iowa Economic Development Authority and the Mount Vernon & Lisbon Development Group, will put on an exhibit entitled “Hometown Teams: How Sports Shape America”.  The Exhibit, which is free of charge, will be held at the First Street Community Center, 221 1st St. NE, in Mt Vernon, from March 18th to April 29th. Norway is one of the local communities to be included and the Baseball Museum has put a display together that shows off baseball in Norway... Here are a few examples

May 23rd, Post Office Celebrates Norway Baseball

On May 23rd the post office in Norway will hold an open house with cake and a display of the posters used in the Smithsonian exhibit, noted above.  A commemorative postal cancellation stamp, honoring Norway Baseball will be used by the post master to create keep sake mementos; everyone is welcome...
